Contemplation2
June 13, 2024July 7, 2024, the Tushino Gallery hosted the exhibition of two Ossetian artists titled «Contemplation2». The gallery halls showcased paintings and graphic works by Ibragim Shanaev along with bronze sculptures by Bilar Tsarikaev.

Ibragim Shanaev graduated from the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute. He has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists since 1999 and has participated in numerous Russian and international exhibitions.
The paintings and graphic works by Ibragim Shanaev presented at the «Contemplation2» exhibition are evidence of the remarkable artist’s long journey to his own unique artistic language. The surrounding world, every event, every object, and nature are filled with an invisible essence. The artist reveals this essence through colors, the arrangement of lines and spots, and abstract forms. Ibrahim Shanayev’s artistic style is a rich fruit of natural temperament and almost mathematical creative analysis. His firmly structured canvases and graphic sheets carry high energy and are saturated with creative emotions that cannot help but evoke a response.
Bilar Tsarikaev is one of the most gifted contemporary Ossetian sculptors, elevating Ossetian sculpture to the level of global achievements through his work. He is a member of the Sculpture Section of the Moscow Union of Artists and a member of the Association of Moscow Sculptors.
The «Contemplation2» exhibition features more than two dozen bronze works by the master. Tsarikaev’s works are extraordinary and paradoxical in both conception and form. They are fairytale, intricate, and metaphorical. The sculptor has created a unique pantheon of mythical characters — Saint George the Victorious, the Ossetian deity of fertility and hunting «Afsati», totemic animals, and others. Tsarikaev’s characters possess grotesque appearances and a special attractive power. The artist has invented his own sculptural form, a unified substance. The continuous form permeates all sculptures and all plots.
Bilar Tsarikaev has no works thematically connected with modern life; he prefers mythological, symbolic, and religious themes. By transforming traditional plots, the master creates his own exotic epic.
